Social Media Engagement

Social Media Engagement

Here at Search Control, we love everything that pertains to social media and the opportunities it provides people to connect with one another and connect to certain topics and events. Social media has sky rocketed in the past several years and we think it’s important to embrace what it has to offer.

With the variety of social networks to be on there are several reasons to have a profile on each network. You want to be on LinkedIn for professional purposes, Twitter to stay connected with current events and trends, Facebook to keep in contact with old friends, Instagram to let the world know what you had for dinner and how awesome your weekend was, Google + to stay connected with people, the list goes on and on. These social platforms were created differently to provide you the opportunity to stay engaged with a certain element whether it’s people, places, or events the purpose is for engagement.

This is an important aspect to understand because as humans we have an inherited need to belong and feel connected to our society. The feeling of belonging has changed over time along with technology which is why our source of connection is now through the internet and social media sites, rather than previous forms of connection. While people have their bad connotations for the purposes of social media and technology there is a lot of good in what it has to offer us and the impact it has on our society.

The Powerhouse Company, Google

The Powerhouse Company, Google

Last week Google celebrated 15 years of innovation and success. Here at Search Control we appreciate technology and Google has proven to be a leader in the industry with new products and continued services. This powerhouse company has dominated the online world and continues to be the largest and most used search engine. With what started in a garage, has now become an advanced and very successful brand.

Along with the 15th anniversary, Google announced a few new updates including a new algorithm called “Hummingbird.” It is meant to keep up with longer search phrases and more in depth search results. We now have the capability to ask Google to compare two items, put together a list of songs from a particular artist or pull different statistics and facts about people, places and things. Google has also had a lot of success with their products such as the Android devices. With the lightening fast speed of technology today it is crucial that companies keep up with the times and strive for innovation and success and Google has done just that.

Social Media Doing Good

In today’s world it is exciting to see the power that we have on each other and the role social media plays in this influence. Today, social media plays a huge role in these events and has even brought people together and allowed for more engagement. Hot topics and current events spread faster now more than even, thanks to social media platforms. By logging into Facebook you could learn about a news story that’s developing or a tragic event that has occurred. Not only will you find this valuable information but you can also help spread awareness on these topics. Our society sometimes neglects to see the positive side of social media and all of the powerful influence it has on our lives. It’s important to embrace these key factors of social media and open the lines of communication with one another to create a greater influence on topics and create change.

Search Control: Establishing an Online Presence

Search Control: Establishing an Online Presence
It’s important for your business to establish a positive online presence and creating profiles on popular social media sites is a good place to start. The use of social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google+, Yelp, YouTube, Blogger, Foursquare and Flickr allow customers to get to know more about your company and the services and products you provide.

Start by picking one or two sites you want your company to be on and manage these sites carefully. To determine which social media sites to start with, you will want to see where your presence will have the most impact. Research the sites where your potential customers are spending most of their time and establish a meaningful presence on those platforms.

Your online presence also allows for more engagement with your customers by opening the lines of communication and feedback.  You can reach out to consumers and ask them to review your product or service to ensure you’re delivering up to the standards you have set for your business.

Once you decide which platforms will benefit your company, create and manage these profiles on a weekly basis. You can use tools such as Hootsuite to schedule posts to be published throughout the week. Make sure you’re creating good content by publishing more informative content than just content that’s just promoting your company. Your online presence should be authentic and real so that your customers don’t think they’re talking to an automated robot.

Establishing a positive online presence can be very beneficial to your company’s reputation. By following these tips from Search Control, you can be sure you’re on the right path to social media success.

Search Control Marketing Tips: How to use Facebook for your Business

At Search Control, we are experienced in social media management for people, businesses and brands. We have compiled a few tips about using Facebook for your small business and hope these will be useful in creating a marketing strategy for your business.

1.      Advertising: Facebook allows businesses to advertise their products or services to reach their fans and followers. Because Facebook currently has over one billion users, your business may have the most reach and feedback through a Facebook profile. This can be as simple as telling fans about your product or service or paying for Facebook advertising.
2.      Insights: There are several tools on Facebook that measure how much engagement you are having with your fans and which type of posts are giving you the best type of engagement. With these tools you are able to develop a strategy that best fits your small business and track your online progress.
3.      Feedback: Having a business profile on Facebook will allow consumers to provide feedback about your product or service and let you know if they have any questions or comments. Online customer service has become increasingly popular, with more people turning to social media sites to voice their opinions about a brand or business. Make sure you are quick to reply to your customers and properly respond to any negative reviews.

Search Control is dedicated to helping build brands and businesses by creating a positive online presence across all platforms. Keep in mind that what works for one business might not work as well for another business, so try out different strategies to get the most out of social media. How do you connect with your customers?

At Search Control, we work to connect our clients with their customers in a way that traditional marketing cannot. The beauty of social media marketing is that your customers can respond to the message that you put out. This gives you immediate feedback on the effectiveness of your marketing message. Just like any other medium of marketing, it’s important to do your research and create a strategy before you begin posting. With Facebook insights and the “like” button, you can get immediate feedback from your clients.

Based on who your followers are, you should be posting information that is humorous, entertaining, or informative. Depending on your industry, people will want to follow you if you are providing something that they are interested in. An easy way to attract Likes is if you are known to post coupons and special promotions. This is easier for some industries than others. Local restaurants/bars can post specials and coupons all day and they are almost guaranteed to get likes (as long as the food is goodJ). For other industries, such as garage door repair companies, it gets more difficult to get people to care that you have a Facebook page.

Word of mouth marketing is extremely effective, especially when taken online. If you can ask your customer to write a review or like your Facebook page immediately after the job is done, then their friends will be notified that they liked your page. Even if their friends don’t immediately like the page too, they might remember your name the next time their garage door breaks down.

The Search Control team is staffed with experienced social media managers, content writers, marketing strategists, web designers and more who are constantly working to improve the online image of our clients. The sales team as well as the tech team at Search Control is continuously growing, give us more resources to improve the online reputation of our valued clients.
